I giochi per i Romani
Panem et circenses, pane e giochi del circo, erano i due indispensabili elementi che tenevano quieta la folla anzi, la plebe romana. Il pane veniva richiesto solo dai poveri, ma gli spettacoli del circo, i ludi circenses, piacevano a tutti. Se qualche Romano protestava era più per una questione di gusto che di morale.
I ludi circenses erano di diverso tipo: c'erano le gare di cocchi, predilette dalle signore; c'erano le cacce (veniationes), in cui uomini variamente armati affrontavano belve di diverso tipo: tigri, pantere, leoni, orsi, tori; c'erano le esecuzioni ad bestias dei delinquenti, in cui i condannati venivano gettati in pasto alle belve o fatti morire di una morte atroce, di solito con il pretesto della rievocazione di qualche mito o episodio storico. Ma i preferiti erano i ludi gladiatori: il combattimento uomo contro uomo.
I gladiatori, addestrati fino a divenire vere e proprie macchine da combattimento, gareggiavano uno contro l' altro con armamento uguale o differenziato, cercando di ferirsi o uccidersi a vicenda. In caso di sconfitta la sorte del vinto dipendeva dall'umore del pubblico: se tutti agitavano il fazzoletto, aveva salva la vita, se protendevano il pugno con il pollice all'ingiù (nel segno di "pollice verso") era la morte nell'arena.

Gli atleti impiegati in queste gare, in genere schiavi, erano gli eroi del popolino; ma certo non si poteva credere che amassero la loro misera sorte. Una delle rivolte di gladiatori, quella di Spartaco (73-71 a.C.), fu tra le più terribili subite da Roma.
Tutti i giochi dell'anfiteatro erano cruenti. Sia nei munera, combattimenti tra coppie di gladiatori, che nelle venationes, vere e proprie cacce nell'arena con ogni sorta di animali l'emozione principale dello spettacolo era la morte. Perso l'originario significato di cerimonia funebre connessa al sacrificio umano, ben presto il munus divenne strumento di potere politico.

Nella Roma imperiale, le corse dei carri, i LUDI CIRCENSES, avvengono nel circo, le rappresentazioni sceniche, LUDI SCAENICI, nel teatro, i combattimenti dei gladiatori, i MUNERA, nell'anfiteatro, gli spettacoli e le gare di atletica nello stadio. Nelle ultime file sta il popolo, mentre le autorità e le persone importanti occupano i posti migliori. Gli spettacoli sono molto costosi e le spese gravano sulle finanze dei magistrati. L'organizzazione dei giochi dei gladiatori si diffonde in tutte le città romane, perché sono per i politici strumento di popolarità.

Fino a Cesare i combattimenti dei gladiatori vengono effettuati nei Fori, in seguito i romani creano l'anfiteatro. i gladiatori dormono in celle nelle caserme e sono sorvegliati da guardie. Si dedica particolare attenzione alla loro efficienza fisica ed alla loro alimentazione, tanto che Seneca scrive: "Mangiano e bevono ciò che dovranno poi restituire con il sangue". Dopo il corteo e il saluto rivolto alle personalità più importanti: "AVE IMPERATOR, MORITURI TE SALUTANT", ha inizio il combattimento al suono di strumenti musicali. Il gladiatore sconfitto cede le armi e chiede la grazia all'organizzazione sollevando la mano sinistra o un dito.

Se la grazia viene accordata, gli spettatori gridano "MISSUM", cioè libero, in caso contrario con il pollice verso dicono circo e poi nell'anfiteatro. I combattimenti avvengono o fra animali, leoni contro tigri, elefanti contro tori, o fra uomini e animali. Anche le NAUMACHIE, finte battaglie navali, sono molto apprezzate, ma costano molto e sono poco igieniche per i miasmi delle acque stagnanti.

Il corso di inglese mi piace molto, perchè ho la fortuna di avere due insegnanti fantastiche, che quando spiegano, anche se sei molto distratto, ti fanno capire tutto. E anche perchè alcune volte giochiamo, impariamo tante cose, sia con l' orale, sia con lo scritto e impariamo cose nuove anche a computer, ad esempio, non conoscevo l'esistenza di questo programma.

Mi piace tanto il corso d' INGLESE perchè imparo molte cose e mi preparo per l' esame finale.Le lezioni sono divertenti , anche perchè con la teacher Arianna è sempre tutto ok.

dei bambini inoltre, impariamo molte cose come:

la pronuncia, le descrizioni, testi. Le maestre specializzate ci aiutano con l' inglese.

Il corso di inglese che stiamo frequentando è molto interessante perchè impariamo molte cose nuove che non conoscevamo ancora. Inoltre ,le nostre insegnanti, sono molto brave,soprattutto la teacher di inglese Arianna,che è bravissima.Siamo molto felici di frequentarlo.

il corso happy hours all'inizio non mi piaceva molto perchè le maestre volevano fare un sacco di cose che sapevamo tutti benissimo.Ma quando c'è stato il cambio delle insegnanti ci hanno affidato la nostra maestra preferita:la maestra ARIANNA a cui noi vogliamo molto bene!!!
